June 30, 2016: Villavante to Hospital de Orbigo

Only in Spain would you see this sign.  The staff and gourd identify exactly  whom the driver has to be careful to avoid.
This is a common method of advertising auberges along the Way.  The rock holds down business cards giving the name and location of a hostel in the next town, for those who want to book ahead by cell phone or who need to know where to go.
I thought the topiary in this yard we passed was great. That figure on the top of the topiary bridge looks to me like the crown of Leon, but it is probably a Rorschach  test for passers-by.
A view of the Roman bridge as it spans the river.
The shop next to our hotel.
