June 12, 2016: Logroño to Najera

The view down this straight street shows that the town abuts a rocky mountain.

We can’t get in, but at least we can look at the architecture of the facade. Notice the crowns over the doorways.

I thought these round towers with the scalloped edgings were interesting.

The shields next to the balcony bear the castles of Castile and the lions of Leon, among other symbols, all topped with a crown.

This looks ancient, but it isn’t.  The legend says “Founded 1908, Reconstr(ucted) 1977.”  In any case, it is lovely.
