The view down this straight street shows that the town abuts a rocky mountain.A bishop’s mitre, so this must have been his palace. We can’t get in, but at least we can look at the architecture of the facade. Notice the crowns over the doorways.I thought these round towers with the scalloped edgings were interesting.A knight’s escutcheon, with fleur de lys.Another view showing how the town has expanded right to the edge of the mountain. The shields next to the balcony bear the castles of Castile and the lions of Leon, among other symbols, all topped with a crown. This looks ancient, but it isn’t. The legend says “Founded 1908, Reconstr(ucted) 1977.” In any case, it is lovely.
