Taking photos in the cathedral is not easy.  The golden altar is glorious in its shining beauty.  but rather too ornate for my taste.

The organ is magnificent, with its pipes stretching over the congregation.

Another view of the richly decorated organ

The botafumeiro, which I saw wanted to see swing but didn’t

The cathedral clock tower

A fountain with horses, and pilgrims all around, including one very dear to me

Another view of that fountain, with the monstrance outlined against the sky

A rather dark photo, but I like James’s face against the fountain, and the statue outlined against the  light sky behind

While we were in Santiago, there were many African pilgrims, who sang and in plazas and the cathedral

Doorways, particularly one with interesting statues and shields, are always wonderful to see

The cathedral clock tower and cupola and spires outlined against the sky, though with pesky scaffolding marring the shot
